Domestic Abuse and Animals

admin September 28, 2013 Comments Off on Domestic Abuse and Animals

It has been documented that animals in domestic abuse situations may be the object of violence themselves or that the threat of harm to the pet prevents the victims from exiting the abusive circumstances. FACA supports the education of the public, law enforcement, and animal control officials to the need to protect and secure the safety of any pets in domestic abuse situations.
