Thank you to all of our speakers who submitted their proposals.  The submission window is officially closed, we received 62 proposals for our conference and we are working hard to finalize the schedule and will be notifying selected speakers soon.

The Florida Animal Control Association, DBA Florida Animal Protection and Advocacy Association (FAPAA) is actively seeking speakers for our 2024 Annual Training Conference.  FAPAA’s conferences offer 3-4 simultaneous tracks to include field services, shelter operations, and leadership.  During our 2023 conference, we also offered a certification track and a shelter medicine track.  Our conferences are attended by animal welfare professionals that include animal enforcement agencies, animal shelters and animal services agencies, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, animal protection and welfare leadership, and much more.

The 2024 conference will run all day Friday, February 23rd and Saturday, February 24th and there is a half day on Sunday, February 25th.  We are seeking speakers for all our tracks on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Depending on speaker submissions, we may include a one-day track for shelter medicine personnel.

We are also seeking speakers for two seperate four-hour tracks on Sunday, possibly to include a certificate course.  We are seeking either two, two-hour session or one four-hour field services session and the same geared towards shelter employees.

FAPAA will provide each speaker with a complementary conference registration, including all included conference meals (3 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 1 banquet dinner) for speaking ($425.00 value).  All speakers are responsible for their own travel and expenses. On a case-by-case basis, out of state speakers, traveling to the conference, may be eligible for a sponsored hotel room for one night.

The deadline to submit a speaker proposal is October 31, 2023.  Interested speakers are welcome to submit several proposals and may be selected to speak on more than one topic.  Submissions from topics not presented the previous two years will have priority.  Please review our conference programs for further information.
